If you haven’t read the blog about spring cleaning… you should. As a 50 year old cowgirl illness and poor health is a fact of life if you don’t take control! My favorite from the article was…. if you do not make the time for exercise, you will have to make time for illness.

Listen I have rheumatoid arthritis and when I was eating a lot of sugar it was BAD! Since I have restricted sugar I am off my medicine and my joints are working again. Now that we are doing this challenge they are even better. I have said it and I will say it again… Sugar is the DEVIL

That is great news! Yes, since I started my 50’s I am feeling it in trying to do my workouts and everything. My goal is to lose about 35 pounds. I know I will feel much better.

Here is a great outdoor workout or you can do it inside. The idea is to work your way down to 1. So early on you can do as many as you can and then by the end of the challenge be doing each exercise so that you have completed 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 You would be doing each 10 times but with less reps each time. Do any of you ladies do pilates? I just tried a very short intro to it the other day, and wanted to know if anyone practices it more intensely. I’ve never been as out of shape as I am right now, so I’m looking for something that I can build up to.

I had a great workout this morning! I did both the 15 minute beginner workout and the walking workout posted here. Then I went walking up and down the road in front of our place. Spotted 3 of our calves that got out. Got my hubby and spent another 15 minutes chasing them back! Voila! A one hour workout to start my day!

One of the things that we do regularly is walking/running with our horse. Instead of always riding, we take long walks with bouts of jogging. I am doing the exercise workouts, then go outside and work in the yard, or do stretching. Tonight, I came home and mowed the orchard. Dang it’s hot! But I am hanging in there!

I am getting a lot of walking in. My horse is boarded about 2 miles away, so I’ve been walking to see her. So hot, so I do it in the morning. Then swimming in the afternoon.

We have been talking about how important walking is in your day to day exercise. We would love to see you get 10,000 steps a day, but sometimes that is not doable. I have used Leslie Sansone’s workouts for years, even during pregnancy. They are low impact and burn calories. Try it out!
