Watched “Beyond the Edge” with Lauren Alaina. She is just the cutest, but has had her own body issues. At the end of whatever day they were on she said she was proud of what her body accomplished, even though she was tired and hungry. I think we sometimes forget that our bodies are amazing. We may be on a journey to make them more healthy and…[Read more]

Feeling a little frustrated, but sticking with workouts, nutrition, and natural sugar (in food). I have drank 75 oz. of water per day for the last couple of years. Still working up to a gallon…some days I get it in…other days not so much. Still working on 100 squats per day. I can do 100 squats, just struggling to fit them in every day.…[Read more]

Been a few days since I have visited this site, but have kept up with workouts and nutrition. Made the 10 day sugar detox. My son and his family were here for dinner on Sunday. Had a small slice of light cheesecake for dessert, but other than that I’m still living sugar free other than natural sugars found in foods. Hope you all are feeling great!

Still no saddle time. Weather has been uncooperative…rain, snow, wind. Welcome to Spring in Utah.

  • I have been doing great with getting my water down and eating right. Even doing my exercise if I could just find time to ride my horse I would be happy!

12 days…low to no sugar. So far…so good. Enjoy your weekend!

  • Cardio and leg days always seem to take more out of me. I feel like I need to eat more, but that makes it hard to stay within my calorie goals. More protein or more carbs? Or both?

Just a reminder…Rome wasn’t built in a day. We are a work in progress and as long as we keep trying we are making progress!

I did it!!! 10 days without sugar or sweetener of any kind. No refined flours. No dried fruits. And no sugary beverages. Sugar is my addiction, so I will keep going, other than an occasional treat. Congratulations to all of you who also made it or are still working on it.

Leg day…again. Feeling it, but loving it!

Upper body workout this morning. Increased weights on the last set. I have limited time in the morning…the best time for me to work out, so 30 minute workouts are best for me. Wakes me up and keeps my energy level up during the day. I just use dumb bells and my own weight, along with some DVD workouts I have collected. Will add several sets…[Read more]

    • Congratulations. Keep up the good. I struggle on days I work 13-14 hr days are long. Trying to do the challenges we have

  • Continuing to track nutrition. Had pizza over the weekend. I think for the first time in history I stuck to one slice and then filled up on veggies. Had corned beef and smoked cabbage with potatoes and green beans cooked in avocado oil on Sunday. Weighed and measured everything. Kept me within my allotted calories, as well as under the…[Read more]

Another workout in the books. Increased weight on last set of each exercise. Will walk the pasture with my horse during lunch…before sitting behind a computer for the rest of the afternoon. Then chores and walking dogs tonight. Happy Tuesday!

Almost through the 10 day sugar detox. Still going strong. Amazing how reducing sugar intake has decreased inflammation in my joints. I think I’ll continue even after the 10 days. Up to 75 squats per day (25 reps at a time :)) …on top of any that are included in my regular workouts. Continuing to track nutrition as well. Feeling great!

  • I am really struggling with drinking 64oz of water and logging my food.

    • I know what you mean about the water. One thing that I do is fill an empty milk jug and mark different times on it to drink. I’ll post it in the f.b. group. It seems easier for me to drink water in the summer, that’s for sure.

    • I have found that drinking it at room temperature helps me. Not everyone likes that. It definitely takes time to adjust. Maybe it will be easier as the weather gets warmer. You can do it!
