So my Saturday was horrible, but I got back on track Sunday and have done pretty good today. I just need to find more time for exercise!

  • Fatigue & low energy levels have been a struggle for me, off & on, for the last 5 years. Prior to that period of time, I would choose one 1/2 marathon to run each year. My new motivation combines a personal goal & a physical activity goal … to run in the Grand Teton Half Marathon, & visit the National Park on June 1, 2019. Using the challenge to…[Read more]

    Happy Friday!
Made it through the week without sugar. Managed to work through a few headaches & major fatigue! Water & more water is key to fighting through sugar cravings. I found it easier to avoid sugar @ home … at work, there are ALWAYS plates of cookies, local specialty cinnamon rolls & doughnuts sitting around! Anyone else?

  • Okay another day done! I’m enjoying keeping busy! Got stuff moved out to the horses property today and got a couple ton of hay today! (More to come once we get a covered area to put it 😊) Got way over the 10,000 step goal!! Lol Now looking at 5 days of travel coming up 😳 but we got some shakes, bars, and other better for you meal/ snack options s…[Read more]

I have stayed away from sugar all day and my headache is slowly going away! Hopefully tomorrow it will be gone! I’m going to start the 30 day Ab/Squat Challenge. I’m going to get these abs and thighs in shape! 🙂

A Quick Tip for inner thigh workout is to drop your stirrups. Take your boots out of the stirrup and ride for 10 minute increments. It will do wonders for your inner thighs and you will feel it the next day! 🙂

Ok… so to say I’m out of shape is understatement. However, on my iPhone I downloaded the app Asana Rebel. It has short workouts and stretches to do throughout the day. I highly recommend it. I’m already getting more flexible.

I’m at the hospital with my sisters… my mom just had surgery. So the stress level is high… the surgery was a success so that is a relief for now… she had a tumor removed from the left lung this morning… early reports say it is not cancer… My oldest sister brought “treats” for us…. Guys… you have got to try dehydrated okra if you…[Read more]

  • Even with things “against” me today I stayed on track! We are moving my mom from WA state to NM so it’s all chaos and we are out twice today but I made smart choices and had water to drink even though my husband had to get Dr Pepper! lol. We walked home from the restaurant and moved plenty of boxes and painted a room today. So I stayed activ…[Read more]

    • Good work! Sounds like a busy time, which definitely makes it harder to stay on track food wise. Think of the money you save by not getting an “actual” drink when you go out…
And yay for horses being home soon!

      • Thank you! We’ve stocked up on protein bars, and better snack options for being on the go rather than stopping to go out to eat. I’m going to try and do some body weight exercises at stops to keep myself moving around through the drive.

It cooled off enough today to get some time in the arena. I also got some swimming in

For exercises I can’t really incorporate Bubbles into, such as yoga, I’ve lucked out with his pretty consistent nap schedule that allows me somewhat planned time to myself to get it done! How do other mamas work around their baby’s schedules?

After not working out for a while and getting back into it, I noticed my muscles have been extra tight. That, along with the air quality being terrible, made me decide to stay inside today and work on stretches. I did a couple of short yoga sessions and attempted pilates.

    What disciplines do y’all ride?

    • I ride mostly western. But I was trying out my new saddle today. It’s a contoured bareback pad with stirrups. It is so comfortable, but it’s going to take some getting used to not having a saddle horn for mounting and unmounting LOL!

      • Mounting would be a challenge – hopefully your horse stands well! I love bareback riding, and it’s such a great workout too!

    • I ride western. We live on a small ranch… We go to cowboy church… I’m married to a team roper… So I have a roping saddle … but I recently got a barrel saddle… I’m not going to lie… I love it… it’s so light. I wanted something to just throw and play in…

      • Is that the kind of cowboy church where you get to take your horse? I heard of one once that takes place in an arena on horseback! Do you do any roping yourself? My engagement gift to my husband was a roping saddle – he’s not much of a rider but wanted something sturdy. I love my barrel saddle! Light and comfortable. Much nicer than a show saddle.

        • We have several events in our arena. But church is in a sale ring of an auction. Yes, I started team roping at age 40 and enjoy being on our all girls ranch rodeo team.
