Monday and Wednesday did a couple of Fitbit workouts. Not my favorite. Tuesday I just walked the dogs. Today I did an old school Billy Blanks workout. Still one of my favorites. My favorite DVD workouts are worn out and won’t play. 🙁 Struggling with my workouts because I can’t find any that I like. I don’t have a home gym…just some…[Read more]

Welcome everyone! Hope you all are enjoying this new challenge. I don’t know about you, but the “…ber” months, September, October, November, and December, are soooo tough for me because I love all the yummy comfort food. But…this challenge will definitely help me think twice about what I eat and I feel so much better. What about you? Do…[Read more]

From Fitbit, “…you recently went above and beyond with activity. Now, your body might need rest. For active recovery try light walks, stretches, or restorative yoga.” Sooo…this morning I walked and fed the dogs, fed the barn cats, fed and watered horses, cleaned stalls, groomed one dog (75 pound Border Collie that hates to be groomed), and…[Read more]

I cook almost every night for my husband and myself, though I don’t like cooking. Y’all got any husband-friendly healthy recipes to share?

    • I did oven baked butter garlic salmon with a small amount of white rice and vegetables.

    • My husband is a typical cowboy 🤠…meat and potatoes kinda guy but he is willing to adjust. We do stir fry with shrimp 🍤 or grilled chicken and rice. We also do spaghetti but use veggie pasta or protein pasta.

Feeling my age a bit today. Joints are a bit sore. Don’t know if it’s the incoming storms or just doing more with the warmer weather. I’m a firm believer that exercise keeps the joints lubricated, but some days they (my joints) disagree. It’s all good, though. I still got up and worked out and will walk the dogs and horse this afternoon, as…[Read more]

You would think it would be fairly simple to get 10,000 steps in a day with all that we do, but I have come up short on several days during this challenge. I know that I get more steps than are recorded on my phone because I don’t always have it with me. However, I refuse to quit. The weather is a big factor for me, so hopefully, it will be…[Read more]

Had to take a couple of days off from my workouts…the storm that rolled in took me out…huge headache, aching joints…grrr! But I’m baaaack!!! And I don’t feel like I missed a beat. I’m sticking with my 30 minute morning workouts, then I get the rest of my 10,000 steps in after chores are done. Even got the husband in on the walking.…[Read more]

Still sticking with the 10,000 steps and 100 crunches per day, as well as the 100 squats and push ups. Mother Nature isn’t playing nice, however, with the 10,000 steps, but that’s ok…I’ll catch up. The wind and snow was crazy here yesterday. How is your weather? Hope it’s warm and sunny where you are.

Well, the Texas wind has knocked me out of steps! I’ll be able to catch up this weekend though. Gotta keep going-I am seeing results!

Monday Motivation! Ernestine Shepherd is well into her 80’s! I am a couple decades away from that, but I’m “determined, dedicated, and disciplined” so I can be fit and healthy when I’m in my 80’s.

Got in over 10,000 both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was more of a workout…Sunday was just a lot of moving around…grandbabies are in town. Got all 100 crunches, squats, and push ups in on Saturday. Only 50 on Sunday. Today is a new day and a new week…and I’m still on the way to a better me! Have a great day!

I can get behind this Step Challenge! I like that my phone will count my steps! I can get 5000 steps in easily, but 10,000 will require some concentrated effort.

I am doing Kundalini Lounge 40 day weight loss yoga. I think I’m at day 26 today. I just started the Kundalini Lounge 40 day Mental Health one with my daughter. I need to get more steps in though.

I didn’t realize the monthly challenges until recently. I only did the squats 1 time. I hope to improve here too! I need to learn time management!! Good night all!

“Strength training makes everything easier.” (Debra Atkinson, Flipping 50) I know we all do a lot of moving and lifting on a daily basis…cleaning stalls, feeding, watering, scrubbing, etc., and our muscles have become accustomed to the routine. For me, this statement is definitely true. Although I’m not doing anymore than usual, it has become…[Read more]
