Happy Monday everyone! Full body cardio with weights, 5 minute arm workout, 60 second plank. Food tracked in MyFitnessPal. I may not be quite where I wanted to be by the end of this challenge, but I’m definitely not where I started. Stay strong!

Leg day + 100 crunches + 2-60 second planks in the books. Steps…still falling short, but still getting more in than before starting the challenge.

  • Nutrition…the struggle is real. BUT…I am much better at making healthier choices. There are days that I don’t want to cook or make a meal because I didn’t plan ahead…and I am headed to some fast food joint. In the past I might not think twice about ordering, but now…I turn around, go home, and fix something healthy! Thank you Cowgirl Fit!

Continuing with daily workouts…such a great habit! The challenge is nutrition. I know I’m not the only one who is busier with more sunlight and better weather. I’m also not as good at meal planning, so…goals. I know that, for me, if I am better at meal planning, I am more likely to eat healthier, which includes eating dinner before 9:00…[Read more]

I love DST and I’ve been able to ride several times a week. I’m rehabbing my horse from some lameness issues and getting myself going again after fracturing a vertebrae last fall. Riding is just good medicine!

Hope you all had a great weekend! Went to dinner over the weekend. Indulged. Now back to work.
Yesterday’s workout: total body cardio with weights and two walks with the dogs. Today’s workout, upper body and a 20 minute walk. Hoping to get another walk in this afternoon. And…back to tracking food. Got a bit lazy, but I’m “striving for…[Read more]

  • Intermittent fasting hasn’t been too bad. Still trying to get it all figured out. So much conflicting information out there. Anyone else trying this?

Food for the last couple of days has been:

    Yesterday:
Breakfast: protein shake with 1/2 banana, blueberries, spinach, pea protein, and almond milk
    Lunch: Salmon and steamed rice
    Dinner:…[Read more]

No workout yesterday. Some days a girl just needs a few extra ZZZZZ’s…but…I did do my 100 crunches, 2-30 second planks, and 2-5 minute arm workouts. Gotta give my knees a break.

Full body strength training this morning and a nice walk with the dogs.

Day isn’t over yet. Hoping to get some more steps in with my horse, as well as, my crunche…[Read more]

Leg day yesterday but only 5459 steps…boo! Nutrition pretty good, but not great.

Lunch = Spaghetti with chickpea pasta and meat sauce made with homegrown ground beef.
Dinner = chicken, rice, steamed zucchini and yellow squash.
Snack = peanut butter with a few chocolate chips.

30 minute upper body workout. Trying intermittent fasting so I didn’t have breakfast…protein shake…until I got to work. Any of you try intermittent fasting? It’s new to me. We’ll see how it goes.

Sooo…I thought this was funny. “One way to stay in shape is to put your dessert on your face instead of in your stomach…‬” (Sly Stallone) LOL!

Weather has really put the skids on my riding. Well…that and my husbands work schedule. If the wind is blowing like it has been (and will be again today) it’s just not safe to ride with no one around. We will get to a point where it won’t matter, but until then…sigh. Hoping you all are getting in some good time with your equine partners.

Feeling my age a bit today. Joints are a bit sore. Don’t know if it’s the incoming storms or just doing more with the warmer weather. I’m a firm believer that exercise keeps the joints lubricated, but some days they (my joints) disagree. It’s all good, though. I still got up and worked out and will walk the dogs and horse this afternoon, as…[Read more]

Amazing to think we have been on this journey for nearly 2 months! I still struggle with smart nutrition, but I am eating better than I was at the beginning and I have been getting my workouts in 5-6 days a week. Still a bit behind on my 10,000 steps. Some days I get over 10K. Others I get just under…and still others I am lucky to get half.…[Read more]

I’ve been reading/listening to the book “Eat Smarter” by Shawn Stevenson. For me, it’s not an easy read…listening to the audio version is much easier. It is very interesting and educational and mind-boggling. Makes me think twice about what I eat. Bon appetit!
