100 squats per day…25 at a time. Added 100 push-ups per day…also 25 at a time. Noticing little changes…my skin is more hydrated; I’m better able to make healthy food choices; I don’t have the sugar cravings; and many more. I don’t feel like there has been any change in my weight or measurements, but I’m not giving up! One day at a time!

Feeling a little frustrated, but sticking with workouts, nutrition, and natural sugar (in food). I have drank 75 oz. of water per day for the last couple of years. Still working up to a gallon…some days I get it in…other days not so much. Still working on 100 squats per day. I can do 100 squats, just struggling to fit them in every day.…[Read more]

This isn’t really a recipe, but it’s what I have for breakfast nearly every morning.

1 cup Fresh or frozen fruit
1/2 cup low fat, low sugar Greek Yogurt
    1 Tbs whole almonds

    Mix and enjoy!

The fresh fruit varies widely according to what’s in season. Strawberries are starting to come in!

I did it!!! 10 days without sugar or sweetener of any kind. No refined flours. No dried fruits. And no sugary beverages. Sugar is my addiction, so I will keep going, other than an occasional treat. Congratulations to all of you who also made it or are still working on it.

Almost through the 10 day sugar detox. Still going strong. Amazing how reducing sugar intake has decreased inflammation in my joints. I think I’ll continue even after the 10 days. Up to 75 squats per day (25 reps at a time :)) …on top of any that are included in my regular workouts. Continuing to track nutrition as well. Feeling great!

Sugar detox…day 6…getting easier to “just say no” to sugar. However…my protein shake for lunch had a whopping 15 grams of sugar (organic cane sugar, acacia gum, and fructooligo-saccharides)…GRRR. I should have paid more attention to the nutrition facts and ingredients. The good news is without all the other added sugars in my diet from…[Read more]

Always looking for higher protein options. Looking forward to trying some of them. Link won’t attach below, but if you’re interested, you should be able to copy and paste this link. https://www.eatthis.com/high-protein-breakfasts Happy Eating!

    • i wish eggs weren’t listed as a protein source. since I have an egg allergy…its such a challenge as every diet and healthy eating plan includes them.

      • Oh shoot! Food allergies do create challenges. I hope you are able to use some of the other protein sources listed in the article.

Day 3 of sugar detox…the struggle is real 😩. Fortunately I’m not a fan of Jolly Ranchers or candy fruit slices. Whew!!! Stuck with lots of protein, fruits, and veggies. 💪💪💪

I don’t know if you’ll be able to read this or not but I just tried this recipe from a new cookbook I got called Milk Street Cook-ish – it’s simple, fast and very flavorful. I use low sodium soy sauce and served it with a salad of kale/mixed greens/spinach with diced cucumber, red peppers and green onions with a sesame seed dressing. I halve…[Read more]
